Biography
MARIANA CABUGUEIRA is the visionary force driving Mariana Cabugueira Studios-an intersection of architectural brilliance and design innovation that spans the physical and metaverse realms. Mariana holds a Master's in Architecture and Urbanism from Lisbon's FAL School and the acclaimed Politecnico di Milano, alongside a Master's in Architectural Design Research from the prestigious AA-DRL school in London, cementing her as an architectural designer.
As a Senior Architect at Zaha Hadid Architects, Mariana contributed to iconic projects like Navi Mumbai Airport and Tower C in Shenzhen. In 2022, she was the Leader and Art Director of the Architecture Department at Wilder World, shaping the metaverse City, Wiami. Founding Mariana Cabugueira Studios in 2023, she's driving evolution in architecture and digital design.
The Studios' focus is an Al-powered Metaverse and redefining tangible design via parametric principles in geometry. Mariana Cabugueira Studios uniquely bridges physical and digital, particularly within the rapidly emerging web3 immersive spaces, known as the metaverse.
Mariana is also a distinguished teacher, Head Tutor, and Meta-Fluid Studio Director at PA Academy since 2021, with a global impact as an influential speaker. Mariana Cabugueira's journey embodies innovation and boundary-pushing in the architectural world.
Seminar - The Love Language of Places: Why Building Better Relationships with Place is the Key to Brighter Futures
Rosanna Vitiello | Founding Director, The Place Bureau
Synopsis
Places are rarely designed for empathy, but we’d live in a more equitable, beautiful and sociable world if they were. As an expert in building better relationships between people and places, Rosanna Vitiello works with emotion as her foundation. In the concrete world of architecture and development, she brings a vital viewpoint that works with desire, meaning and belonging, encouraging collective imagination to tackle future challenges.
We’ll explore her concept of ‘the love language of place’, unpacking how different ways to design and steward destinations and cultural districts can build trust, unlock value and begin to tackle deep social, environmental and economic challenges. She’ll expand on the role that destination-makers can play and the benefits their ways of thinking can bring to wider places worldwide.
Finally she’ll reveal how this work inspires places people wish existed, to build a brighter future in a world tumbling through transformation.

Rosanna Vitiello is the Founder and Director of The Place Bureau, a studio focused on finding new frontiers for places around the world. She is a trusted partner of destination-makers — from the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janiero, Museo Lavazza in Turin, or The Crown Estate on their central London destinations.

Kim Dabbs | Founder, To Belonging
Synopsis
Belonging is part of the human condition. We all want to feel seen, heard, and valued. When we feel like we have to wear a mask to fit in, we hide core aspects of our identity that are needed to thrive. Together, we will explore ways to design for Belonging in the workplace and the world.
Biography
Kim Dabbs is a global leader in Belonging and Purpose, whose unique life story informs her passionate advocacy for inclusion and understanding. Born in Korea and adopted by American parents, Kim's journey has taken her from feeling perpetually out of place in different cultures to becoming an influential voice in creating spaces where everyone feels they belong.
As the Global Vice President of Impact at Steelcase, she applies her extensive experience in social innovation, honed through roles like the Executive Director of the West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology and a residency at Stanford's d.school, to foster more inclusive and equitable environments.
Kim is the best-selling author of You Belong Here, The Power of Being Seen, Heard, and Valued on Your Own Terms, published by Berrett-Koehler Publishers in 2024 and named a top book to read by the Financial Times. Her debut book reflects her transformation from a cultural chameleon trying to fit in to a thought leader who champions the idea of belonging to oneself. You Belong Here offers a new framework for individuals to create a sense of Belonging in any situation and serves as a launchpad for organizational leaders and culture builders to create safe spaces for individuals to show up as their authentic selves.
As a sought-after speaker, Kim has delivered keynotes to organizations and institutions such as Google, Microsoft, MIT, The Drucker Forum, and The Guggenheim. She is also the founder of To Belonging, a global community of changemakers working to build Belonging by exploring the intersection of identity and purpose at home, at work and in the world.

This presentation explores the transformative trends reshaping the luxury sector, with a particular focus on how design plays a pivotal role in the evolving landscapes of hospitality, travel, and experiential industries. As discerning travellers shift their expectations, the essence of luxury is being redefined—not by opulence and materiality, but by intentionality, emotional resonance, and curated moments that create lasting meaning. For architects, interior designers, and hotel visionaries, this evolution represents both a challenge and an opportunity to craft environments that capture the heart of this new luxury ethos. The design elements explored in this presentation will emphasize how spaces can evoke a sense of place, connection, and meaning, laying the foundation for experiences that resonate deeply with guests and users.
Biography
Robin is a cultural researcher, ethnographer, and insights analyst with a background in public policy, trend forecasting, and communication strategy. With a decade of experience in consumer research, future trends, and marketing analysis, Robin specializes in advising organizations with cultural intelligence and qualitative analysis. Robin has an academic background in political science, and was previously an assistant professor at the University of Texas in Austin. More recently, he has worked for the likes of the UK Government's Defra futures team, Protein, Pearson, and WGSN, and currently holds the position of Senior Futures Advisor at SOON Future Studies.
