Synopsis
Einstein famously said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Yet, Sam Altman declared we’re entering an ‘Intelligence Age,’ reflecting a future of AI algorithmic determinism that sounds more like a poorly rebranded iteration of the Information Age, drowning in data but devoid of wisdom. Where is human agency in this future? Enter the Imagination Age, a human-centered future where economic value derives from the power of ideas and anything you envision can materialize. An era in which human creativity — not productivity — reigns supreme. Ideas are the new currency and thoughts the new prompts, with the gap between concept and creation rapidly shrinking. To be human is to be creative, and this moment beckons us to shift our focus from human DOING to human BEING — ethically and responsibly. Join this session to discover how to flourish alongside AI, reawaken human agency, and transform collective imagination into impact.

Synopsis
Our biggest exposure – by far – is the air we breathe. Each of us inhales an average of 2000 gallons of air a day of which 90% is from the indoor environment. During this obligatory process we draw into the depths of our lungs outdoor gases and particles mixed with indoor emissions from building materials, appliances, humans, pets as well as airborne microbes. It is no surprise that indoor air has an extensive influence on our physiology, health and productivity.
Despite the powerful impact of buildings, they are generally not designed and managed through a medical lens, but instead focus on aesthetics, comfort, energy conservation and avoidance of catastrophic building failures.
Finally this can change! Based on a deep understanding of medicine and environmental sciences, Dr. Taylor will present a strategy to measure, analyze and visualize the real-time health impact of the buildings we live, work and learn in.
Please join us for an exciting discussion on using sensor-driven insights to create healthier, more resilient buildings that optimize the human microbiome and reduce acute and chronic diseases.
Biography
Dr. Stephanie Taylor has a unique career path that unites medicine, microbiology and architecture—positioning her as a global leader in health-focused building design. She is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and Norwich University’s School of Architecture and has spent decades bridging the gap between clinical medicine and the built environment. She received her Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts and for several decades practiced pediatric oncology while researching cellular growth mechanisms. While practicing oncology she witnessed the epidemic of healthcare-associated infections. Suspecting that the hospital building played a more significant role in infection transmission than was being discussed by her medical colleagues, she returned to school for her Master's Degree in Architecture to gain a better understanding of building design and operations. With new insights, she delved into research on the relationship between indoor environments and clinical outcomes. As her research revealed the powerful role of indoor environmental quality in driving acute infections, chronic inflammation, cognitive impairment, and a multitude of other diseases, she was not surprised to find that the built environment contributes significantly to health conditions in occupants of all building types. Dr. Taylor founded Taylor Healthcare Consulting, Inc., Building4Health Inc., and now is the Medical Advisor for ThinkLite Air, a company that manufactures premier monitors and remediation products to manage indoor environments for occupant health in the most energy efficient way. She is a Distinguished Lecturer for ASHRAE, an inaugural member of the ASHRAE Epidemic Task Force, a voting member of several other health-focused ASHRAE committees, serves on the US Green Building Council’s Advisory Board, and is a medical advisor to the long-term care industry.Sunday, September 21
